WELCOME TO CRO QUAIL FARMS INC.

On January 14, 2002, a second generation family farm, long known as Speck Farms, was purchased by Clarence Richard Oosterhoff. On the day that Mr. Joe Speck handed over his keys and well respected reputation to Clarence, CRO Quail Farms Inc. became the new name of the leading producer of quality quail products in the province of Ontario.

In the background of this page you will see a drawing of what remains of one of the original quail barns on the Speck property. It was still used in the raising of Coturnix Quail not many years ago.

The operation has grown over time, and CRO Quail Farms Inc. is unique in being a traditional, yet modern and exclusively Coturnix Quail centered operation. Quail are their only business. From their own carefully selected breeding stock, to the specialized Quail hatchery, and the on site Quail Processing Plant, everything to do with Quail is still done “home on the farm.”

CRO Quail Farms Inc. is licensed by the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture and Food, and constantly uses their objective, science-based oversight for all meat processing activities.

Along side of quail production, CRO Quail Farms also sells quail eggs for public consumption. These small speckled eggs make a wonderful presentation as well as being extremely delicious and are packaged and shipped direct from the farm.

Not all of the quail are processed for the table. Quail is also in high demand as a nutritious food for many birds of prey such as falcons, hawks, etc., especially during the spring season. Many are also used in the training of hunting dogs as well.

CRO Quail Farms takes great pride in their growing production facilities and are always seeking out new ways to improve their farming techniques and the quality of their quail. Quality quail products are everything that CRO Quail Farms does.
